Operations Manager – Fire Projects

G4S Secure Solutions is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Fire Projects division in Dublin. You will oversee the full project lifecycle, drive operational efficiencies, and manage a high-performing engineering team. This role bridges technical execution, commercial management, and strategic client relations to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Team & Operational Leadership
- Team Management: Lead the project engineering team, overseeing scheduling, leave, expenses, and performance.
- Subcontractor Oversight: Manage, approve, and audit third-party subcontractors and handle purchase orders.
- Fleet & Logistics: Oversee the project team’s fleet and coordinate with the warehouse for equipment deliveries.
- Operational Excellence: Drive divisional efficiencies and monitor KPIs to hit strategic growth targets.
Project & Commercial Management
- Project Delivery: Take full accountability for all projects and quoted works, ensuring strict compliance and budgeted margins.
- Financial Oversight: Manage project commercials, including work-in-hand, applications for payment, variations, and invoicing.
- Reporting & Forecasting: Deliver accurate monthly project forecasts and job approvals to senior leadership.
- Credit Control: Partner with the accounts team to manage debtors, credits, and financial queries.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Consultative Support: Advise clients, electrical engineers, contractors, and consultants on fire industry standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align regularly with department heads, procurement, and billing teams.
- Supply Chain Management: Partner with third-party suppliers to improve technology, manage price books, and resolve issues.
Business Growth & Technical Expertise
- Sales Enablement: Support the sales team with technical queries, client engagement, and qualified leads.
- Market Intelligence: Identify new business opportunities and transfer them to Business Development Managers.
- Industry Compliance: Maintain deep knowledge of evolving fire industry standards and G4S product ranges.
About You
- Experience: 5+ years of operational management experience within a dedicated project delivery background.
- Industry Expertise: In-depth, practical knowledge of current fire industry standards and regulations.
- Commercial Acumen: Strong track record of managing project finances, variations, and profit margins.
