What you will be doing as a Part Qualified AccountantIn this 8-month contract role as a Part-Qualified Accountant with us, you will ensure payroll is approved in a timely manner, in line with the company’s agreed monthly payment dates and you will own all payroll-related matters. Additionally, you will be responsible for posting all group bank transactions and reconciling the group’s cash position at month-end, including FX. You will also work towards month-end deadlines and provide support to the finance manager.
Manage the payroll timetable and ensure all stakeholders are aware of the month’s deadlines.
Ensure you fully understand any requests from HR and double check the dates any dates on the HR sheet match any supporting documents i.e. Contracts.
Write clear and concise notes in the finance checklist and send detailed mails requesting approval, making sure that the finance manager and CFO are up to speed on any complex issues or variances.
Fully responsible for posting all salary related journals, reconciling the salary control accounts, PRSA, VHI and other salary related reconciliations.
2. Bank:
Posting of all bank transactions on a weekly basis.
Liaising with AP and AR to ensure allocation of payments and receipts are correct.
Making sure the bank payments match the creditors pay run file and highlighting any variances.
Ensure correct FX rates are used in all postings which will allow for a group bank reconciliation on day 1 of month end.
3.Deferred income
Responsible for ensuring that the deferred revenue file is up to date and accurate
All recurring revenue journals are posted to correct GL’s
Liaise with revenue accountant to ensure postings reflect the status of all customers
4. Accruals
Responsible for posting revenue accruals, will liaise with the financial controller before posting the relevant months accrual.
5.Month end reconciliations:
Ensure relevant reconciliations are updated as per month end timetable i.e. Interco accounts & PRSA.
6.Annual Audit:
Assist the finance manager with preparation of items relevant to your ownership and assist with any audit queries.
Requirements:
Seeking a Part Qualified Accountant with 2-3 years' experience in accounting, experience in payroll management and multi-currency group bank reconciliation is an advantage.
Experience in FX is preferred but not required for this role, allowing for growth and development in this area.
