R&D Regulatory Affairs Assistant Scientist

R&D Regulatory Affairs Assistant Scientist (Chemical Safety) role provides support for PepsiCo's concentrate business to meet demand for compliant business-to-business food and beverage concentrates, enabling innovation and reformulation, leading on critical compliance programmes including chemical notifications, classification & labelling, and data review and approval. 

This is an integral role at PepsiCo’s Global Regulatory Chemical Safety Centre of Excellence.

• Act as lead on chemical notifications/submissions, including EU Classification and Labelling Notification (C&L)
• Act as lead on EU Poison Centre Notification (PCN) obligations according to EU REACH regulation
• Support obligations under chemical hazard communication regulations, based on UN Global Harmonised System (GHS)
• Support GHS label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) obligations
• Support dangerous goods/hazardous material obligations globally 

• Third level qualification in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Toxicology, Food Law, Nutrition, Food Science or a related technical discipline
• Experience in a chemical regulatory role desired (experience in Poison Centre Notification or C&L notification is a distinct advantage)
• Excellent understanding of chemica legislation in EU, including REACH EC 1907/2006 and CLP EC 1272/2008
• Experience in gathering complex data for submission to regulatory authorities
• Demonstrated ability to assess the impact of legislative requirements on business activities
• Demonstrated ability to communicate regulatory priorities effectively
• Excellent IT skills with high level proficiency in SDS software, databases, Office programs and communication tools
