Relief Chef

Location: New Ross, Co. Wexford

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Relief Chef to join our team in a residential care home. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high -quality meals for residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook fresh, nutritious meals in line with residents' dietary requirements and preferences.
  
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to a high standard.
  
• Maintain compliance with HACCP, food safety, and health & safety regulations.
  
• Plan daily food production and assist with menu preparation where required.
  
• Manage stock, rotate supplies, and minimise food waste.
  
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.
  
• Work collaboratively with the care home team to support the nutritional needs of residents.
  
• Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.
  

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Chef, ideally within a healthcare, nursing home, hotel, or catering environment.
  
• HACCP/Food Safety certification.
  
• Knowledge of special diets and allergen management is desirable.
  
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
