Job Description - Senior CT Radiographer




RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.







We are hiring a Senior CT Radiographer in our Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.




Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week) or Part-time.




Responsibilities




  • Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging examinations across a range of modalities, including CT, General X-ray, DEXA, Theatre, Interventional/Fluoroscopy, MRI, Ultrasound, and Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, while ensuring exceptional patient care.



  • Deliver safe, accurate, and evidence-based radiographic services by maintaining professional accountability and adhering to departmental policies, clinical protocols, and best practice standards.



  • Participate in rotational shift patterns and on-call rosters as required, while performing duties such as intravenous cannulation and supporting the operational needs of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.



  • Maintain accurate patient records, quality assurance documentation, equipment logs, and staff training records in compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and hospital governance requirements.



  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, nursing staff, general practitioners, and administrative personnel, to ensure efficient patient management and high-quality service delivery.



  • Promote continuous quality improvement by participating in clinical audits, quality assurance programmes, departmental KPI monitoring, accreditation activities, and the implementation of national and international healthcare standards, including JCI, HIQA, and EPA requirements.



  • Ensure full compliance with radiation protection legislation and local radiation safety policies by applying the principles of justification, optimisation (ALARA), and dose limitation while advocating for patient safety.



  • Support the maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting of imaging equipment, contributing to quality assurance processes and ensuring optimal equipment performance.



  • Mentor, supervise, and provide clinical education, orientation, competency assessments, and training for students, newly appointed staff, and colleagues while promoting continuous professional development.



  • Demonstrate excellent organisational, analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with proficiency in radiology information systems (RIS), PACS, iPIMS, and other healthcare IT systems to deliver an efficient, patient-centred imaging service.









Requirements




  • Bachelor's Degree (Hons) in Radiography, Diploma of the College of Radiographers, or an equivalent recognised qualification.



  • Current registration with CORU, with the ability to maintain active registration.



  • Minimum of 3 years of post-graduate clinical experience in diagnostic radiography.



  • A postgraduate qualification in Computed Tomography (CT) is highly desirable.



  • Previous CT experience (18–24 months preferred) is advantageous, while experience in Cardiac CT and MRI is desirable but not essential.



  • Competent in performing intravenous (IV) cannulation safely and effectively.



  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of clinical practice and professional accountability.



  • Demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care with empathy and compassion.



  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and teamwork skills.



  • Proactive, adaptable, and flexible, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and evolving clinical environment.
