You will own complex UI features end\u2011to\u2011end, make independent technical decisions, and collaborate closely with design, product, and QA to ship polished releases. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role, focused on technical ownership. \n\nWhat we offer: \n\n * Work on user\u2011facing Android applications where craftsmanship, usability, and performance matter. \n\n\n\n\n * A collaborative environment that values technical ownership, clean design, and continuous improvement. \n\n\n\n\n * Modern engineering workflows, including CI/CD, automation, and code review best practices. \n\n\n\n\n * Opportunities for professional growth, mentoring, and technical leadership. \n\n\n\n\nWhat you will do:\n\n * Own the design and implementation of complex Android UI features and user journeys. \n\n\n\n\n * Build responsive, accessible, and maintainable UI using modern Android patterns and frameworks. \n\n\n\n\n * Partner with designers and product managers to translate requirements into intuitive experiences. \n\n\n\n\n * Establish UI architecture foundations (e.g., modularization, MVVM/MVI) and promote consistency across the app. \n\n\n\n\n * Improve app performance, stability, and rendering efficiency across a range of devices. \n\n\n\n\n * Write and maintain tests (unit/UI/integration) and contribute to CI/CD quality gates. \n\n\n\n\n * Mentor engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and best\u2011practice guidance. \n\n * Contribute to nonUI application layers as needed, including data flow, state management, and app level architecture. \n\n\n\n\nWhat you bring: \n\nRequired \n\n * Strong professional Android development experience with Kotlin (or Java) and the modern Android SDK. \n\n\n\n\n * Proven experience building user\u2011facing features and UI for production Android applications. \n\n\n\n\n * Solid understanding of Android UI frameworks (e.g., Jetpack Compose and/or Views), state management, and navigation. \n\n\n\n\n * Experience with app architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM/MVI), modular codebases, and dependency management. \n\n\n\n\n * Strong debugging and performance\u2011profiling skills (UI jank, rendering, memory, startup). \n\n\n\n\n * Ability to work independently, make technical trade\u2011offs, and communicate clearly with cross\u2011functional partners. \n\n\n\n\nNice to have \n\n * Experience with design systems, theming, and building reusable UI components. \n\n\n\n\n * Experience with accessibility and internationalization/localization best practices. \n\n\n\n\n * Experience with analytics/telemetry to evaluate user experience and performance. \n\n\n\n\n * Experience leading UI refactors or migrations (e.g., legacy Views to Compose). \n\n\n\n\nDolby Hiring Entity:\n\n77 Sir John Rogerson\u0027s Quay, Block C \nGrand Canal Docklands \nDublin D02 VK60Ireland\n
