You will work closely with workshop fabricators, project managers, QA/QC teams, and external clients to ensure high-specification mechanical systems are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Engineering: Manage and coordinate mechanical engineering deliverables for pharmaceutical, biopharma, and industrial client sites.

  • Design & CAD Support: Review, design, and interpret 3D CAD models, P&ID diagrams, isometric pipework drawings, and general arrangement (GA) drawings.

  • Fabrication Support: Collaborate directly with our Tipperary workshop floor, providing technical guidance to welders, fabricators, and pipefitters on vessel, skid, and pipe spool production.

  • Procurement & Material Selection: Specify and order high-grade mechanical components, piping materials, valves, and specialized fittings in compliance with project specifications.

  • Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Support the QA team in preparing hand-over packages, material traceability logs, pressure test packs, and weld documentation.

  • Site Supervision & Commissioning: Oversee on-site mechanical installations, machinery alignment, pressure testing, and system commissioning at client facilities.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all engineering designs and site operations adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, client EHS guidelines, and industry standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Level 8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification).

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, ideally within high-purity piping, process equipment, or steel fabrication environments (Pharmaceutical, Food/Beverage, or Industrial sectors preferred).

  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 3D modeling tools).

  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of pipework design, fluid handling, pressure vessels, structural steel, and fabrication/welding standards (ASME / EN).

  • Site Certifications: Valid Safe Pass and Manual Handling certificates (or willingness to obtain them).

  • Key Skills: Excellent project management abilities, strong communication skills, and a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.

  • Travel: Full clean driving license and flexibility for occasional travel to client sites.
