Job Description - Senior Occupational Therapist



RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home Care, and Community Care.

       We are hiring an  Senior Occupational Therapist  for a leading Nursing Home in Dublin, Ireland.



       Job Type: Full-time, Permanent



       Salary: €63,279–€67,399 per year.







      Responsibilities

  • Act as Lead Occupational Therapist within their designated service area and provide professional leadership across Bartra Healthcare Occupational Therapy Services.



  • Be responsible for maintaining high standards of Occupational Therapy practice and clinical governance within areas of responsibility.



  • Support the Director of Allied Health in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services.



  • Promote evidence-based practice, innovation and continuous service improvement.



  • Participate as a lead clinician in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, family meetings and care planning reviews.



  • Communicate assessment findings, intervention plans and recommendations effectively to patients, families, multidisciplinary teams and other relevant professionals.



  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with professional, CORU legal GDPR and organisational standards.



  • Contribute to recruitment, induction and retention of Occupational Therapy staff.



  • Support staff in managing complex clinical cases and decision-making processes.



  • Promote reflective practice, professional accountability and continuous learning.

Requirements




  • Hold an Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.



  • Be registered as an Occupational Therapist with CORU.



  • Have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification clinical experience.



  • Possess at least 3–5 years of relevant experience, including 2 years in older persons' care, rehabilitation, or acute medicine.



  • Demonstrate expertise in older persons' Occupational Therapy, stroke rehabilitation, and autonomous caseload management.



  • Experience working at Senior Occupational Therapist level.



  • Previous experience supervising Staff Grade Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants, and students.



  • Hold a full, valid driving licence with access to a car.



  • Postgraduate qualification or additional training in rehabilitation, older persons' care, or orthopaedics is desirable.



  • Leadership, mentoring, management training, and strong IT and clinical documentation skills are desirable.
