We are hiring Senior Pharmacist - Clinicalinto our Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities
Manage the procurement, storage, dispensing, and supply of medicines and pharmaceutical products while ensuring quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
Deliver clinical pharmacy and dispensary services, including prescription review, medication dispensing, patient counselling, and providing expert pharmaceutical advice to medical and nursing staff.
Conduct medicines reconciliation, monitor medication therapy, assess patient responses, interpret clinical data, and support safe, evidence-based prescribing practices.
Promote medication safety by monitoring adverse drug reactions, reporting medication incidents, conducting clinical audits, and ensuring compliance with medication management standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain pharmacy policies, clinical guidelines, operational procedures, and quality improvement initiatives in line with hospital, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
Supervise, mentor, and train pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, students, and other healthcare professionals while supporting continuing professional development and education programmes.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient care, manage drug expenditure, coordinate pharmacy services, and ensure efficient workflow across clinical and dispensary settings.
Support specialised pharmacy services, including aseptic services, electronic prescribing systems, and pharmacy automation, while providing technical guidance and user training as required.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, hospital policies, JCI accreditation standards, and quality assurance programmes, contributing to audits, reporting, and service improvements.
Lead service development initiatives, manage pharmacy resources effectively, participate in on-call and extended-hour services, and undertake additional duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy Services.
Requirements
Be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI); a Diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy Practice is desirable.
Have a minimum of 3 years' post-registration hospital pharmacy experience, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations, education, and training.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with pharmacy management and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Possess strong leadership, administrative, and organisational abilities, with experience in service improvement, change management, and the implementation of pharmacy protocols and clinical guidelines being advantageous.
Be proficient in the use of healthcare technologies, including pharmacy automation and electronic systems, while maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and security.
Be self-motivated, professional, and patient-centred, with strong computer skills, integrity, accuracy, and the ability to train, mentor, and lead pharmacy staff.
