We are Hiring a Social Care Lead to lead a Nursing care home in Cork, Ireland.
Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging, person-centred activity programmes that enhance residents' wellbeing, independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Assess each resident's individual interests, abilities, preferences, and social needs to develop meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities.
Prepare and communicate monthly activity schedules, encouraging maximum resident participation while respecting personal choice and independence.
Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of activities and contribute to residents' care plan reviews as an active member of the multidisciplinary team.
Build positive, respectful relationships with residents, promoting inclusion, emotional wellbeing, and a supportive, person-centred environment.
Develop strong partnerships with local community organisations, recruit and support volunteers, and coordinate their induction, training, and supervision.
Maintain accurate activity records, documentation, and reports while managing activity budgets and resources efficiently.
Ensure all activities comply with HIQA standards, infection prevention and control procedures, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety regulations.
Uphold organisational policies, confidentiality, professional standards, and the highest levels of hygiene, safety, and resident care.
Use information technology effectively for activity planning, documentation, communication, and administrative support while contributing to continuous quality improvement initiatives and regulatory inspections.
Requirements
Degree in Social Care or a related discipline.
Previous experience working with older adults is desirable.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
Compassionate, person-centred approach to resident care and wellbeing.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and deliver engaging social and recreational activities.
Strong documentation and administrative skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
