Software Engineering Test Lead 1699

SimoTech has an opportunity for a Software Engineering Test
Lead to lead and mentor a team of Validation and Test Engineers, supporting the
MES application and focused on driving continuous improvement, and taking
ownership in of overall testing strategy for MES implementations, system
integration, and upgrades.

Based on site a greenfield state -of -the -art biotech
manufacturing campus the successful Software Engineering Test Lead will act as
a key player in driving the quality assurance across the MES program. You will
work closely with CI/CD MES DevOps and Development teams, acting as the gate
keeper ensuring systems are thoroughly validated and meet functional,
regulatory, and performance expectations before deployment.

Key
Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and support a team of validation and engineers,
  promoting strong quality practices and continuous improvement.
  
• Define and maintain the end -to -end testing strategy
  for MES implementations, system upgrades, and integration activities.
  
• Design, develop, and maintain structured test
  assets, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts spanning functional,
  regression, integration, performance, and UAT testing.
  
• Partner with DevOps and development teams to
  integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster, more stable,
  and repeatable releases.
  
• Serve as a primary quality gate for MES releases,
  ensuring all changes meet defined regulatory, functional, and performance
  criteria prior to deployment.
  
• Collaborate with business users, process owners,
  and validation teams to ensure test coverage accurately reflects real
  manufacturing processes
  
• Oversee defect management activities, including
  triage, prioritisation, root cause analysis, and end -to -end tracking using
  tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  
• Support computer system validation (CSV) activities
  in line with GxP regulatory requirements where required.
  
• Deliver clear, insight -driven testing reports and
  quality metrics to stakeholders and senior leadership to support
  decision -making.
  
• Evaluate and support the implementation of test
  automation tools and frameworks suitable for MES environments.
  
• Ensure testing environments are appropriately
  configured and maintained to reflect production -like conditions.
  

Requirements

Key Requirements

• Extensive experience leading testing and QA activities for
  complex enterprise software programmes within Agile/DevOps environments.
  
• Strong expertise in defining and executing test strategies,
  plans, and scripts across functional, regression, integration, performance, and
  UAT testing.
  
• Proficient with test and defect management tools including
  Azure DevOps, Jira, Zephyr, and qTest, with the ability to communicate quality
  risks and outcomes to diverse stakeholders.
  
• Experienced in coordinating testing across multiple teams
  and managing quality assurance delivery.
  
• Strong MES testing experience, ideally with Emerson
  Syncade, including workflows, batch records, system integrations, and regulated
  environments.
  
• Solid understanding of GxP CSV, GAMP 5, regulated software
  lifecycle practices, and MES integrations with ERP (SAP) and LIMS systems.
  
• Ability to work in a hybrid model, with 3 days per week
  based on -site and 2 days working remotely.
