We are hiring Staff Nurse- Medical Assessment Unit, Posts for a hospital located in Tralee, Ireland.







 Permanent Full time



 



  Responsibilities





  • Provide safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients in the Medical Assessment Unit.



  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.



  • Monitor patients' conditions, administer medications and treatments, and promptly report any changes.



  • Work collaboratively with consultants, physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely patient assessment and treatment.



  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with NMBI and hospital standards.



  • Educate and support patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge care.



  • Prioritize and manage the care of acutely ill patients in a fast-paced assessment environment.



  • Adhere to infection prevention and control, medication safety, and health and safety policies.



  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and risk management activities.



  • Supervise, support, and mentor junior nursing staff and students where appropriate.



  • Maintain professional competence through continuing professional development (CPD) and mandatory training.



  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centred care while upholding patient dignity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.







Requirements




  • Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).



  • Minimum 3 years' post-registration experience in an acute care setting.



  • Experience in a Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) or a similar department is desirable.



  • ACLS certification is preferred; candidates must be willing to obtain certification if not already certified.



  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



  • Ability to deliver exceptional, high-quality, patient-centred care.



  • Good IT skills.



  • Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.



  • Experience in cannulation and venepuncture is desirable, or willingness to acquire these skills.
