Provide assessment and ongoing clinical management of orthopaedic patients.
Assist with surgical procedures and provide peri-operative care under consultant supervision.
Conduct patient assessments, take clinical histories, and perform examinations.
Review investigations, including X-rays, CT scans, MRI scans, and laboratory results.
Participate in ward rounds and develop appropriate treatment and management plans.
Monitor post-operative patients and identify complications requiring urgent intervention.
Perform appropriate procedures within the scope of training and competence.
Provide emergency assessment and management of acute orthopaedic presentations.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, consultants, nursing staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and discharge summaries.
Participate in the on-call rota and respond appropriately to urgent clinical situations.
Support junior medical staff and contribute to teaching and training activities.
Medical degree, MBBS or equivalent.
Current registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
Strong commitment to patient safety and quality of care.
Experience at Orthopaedic Surgical Registrar level in an acute hospital setting.
ACLS certification, or willingness to undertake the course.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
