Technical & Development Manager - Food

Teamworx are delighted to partner with our globally loved food-to-go brand. We are searching for an experienced Technical & Development Manager to become the food safety, quality and innovation expert for in Ireland - a rare opportunity to build and own the technical function for an iconic brand from the ground up.

The Role

As Technical & Development Manager, you will be the guardian of everything that Irish customers eat and drink — ensuring every ingredient and finished product is safe, legal and of exceptional quality. You'll manage the local supplier base, own food legality and labelling for the Irish market, and work hand-in-hand with the UK Food team to bring new products from concept to launch in Irish shops.

What You'll Be Doing

•      Supplier Management — build and manage technical relationships with local Irish suppliers, driving continuous improvement in quality and leading supplier risk assessments and audits.

•      Quality, Safety & Legality — own up-to-date specifications, HACCP and risk assessments for every local ingredient; ensure all labels, allergen and shelf-life information are fully legal and current for the Irish market.

•      Shop Support — monitor and respond to shop and customer complaints, spot trends, and produce launch documentation (allergen guides, shelf-life guides) for shops.

•      New Product Development — work through the gated development process with the UK Food team and local suppliers, identifying new Irish ingredients and delivering NPD on time and on spec — including presenting launches to the Head of Food UK & Europe.

•      Incident & Crisis Management — manage quality incidents and unexpected supply chain challenges (capacity issues, factory changes, crisis management) with calm, structured problem-solving.

What We're Looking For

•      A degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.

•      10+ years' experience in food technical roles — ideally within retail, food-to-go, chilled/prepared foods or food service.

•      HACCP Level 4 qualified.

•      Strong working knowledge of food law, labelling and allergen legislation (Irish/EU market).

•      Proven experience in supplier auditing, specifications and quality management systems (e.g. BRCGS environments).

•      Experience of NPD or product commercialisation is a strong advantage.

•      A genuine empathy with natural, fresh food and sustainability — and the confidence to be the technical voice in the room.
