The Opportunity

We are currently seeking applications for 1st Year Electrical Apprentices to join Designer Group.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in building a career as a qualified electrician within a leading international M&E contractor.

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will gain practical, hands-on experience working alongside qualified electricians and experienced site teams. You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship as you develop the technical knowledge, site experience and professional behaviours required to become a fully qualified electrician.

You may have the opportunity to work across a range of project environments, including pharmaceutical, commercial, industrial and data centre projects.

Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Apprentice, you will:

• Work under the guidance and supervision of qualified electricians and site supervisors.
• Support the installation, testing and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Attend and complete all required on-the-job and off-the-job apprenticeship training.
• Follow Designer Group’s health and safety procedures, site rules and company standards.
• Carry out tasks as directed by supervisors, mentors and managers.
• Develop your technical skills, practical knowledge and understanding of electrical systems.
• Maintain good timekeeping, attendance and professionalism.
• Take feedback positively and use it to support your development.
• Work as part of a team while building confidence and independence over time.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

• Completed the Irish Leaving Certificate.
• Passed Ordinary Level Maths in the Leaving Certificate.
• A genuine interest in electrical work, engineering, construction or building services.
• A strong willingness to learn and develop.
• Good attention to detail.
• A reliable, hard-working and positive attitude.
• Good communication skills.
• A commitment to safety and following procedures.
• Previous work experience is not essential, but any practical, technical, construction or trade-related experience would be an advantage.
