At The Door Talent, we are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation providing accommodation and support services to people seeking international protection across Ireland.

We are looking for a compassionate, professional and motivated Social Care Worker to join a dedicated team delivering high-quality, person-centred support within a regulated residential setting.

About the Role

As a Social Care Worker, you will play a key role in supporting residents to achieve greater independence, wellbeing and social inclusion. You will work closely with colleagues and external agencies to ensure residents can access the services and opportunities they need to build positive futures.

The successful candidate will deliver care in line with professional standards, safeguarding legislation and best practice while promoting dignity, respect and equality for every individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred support tailored to individual needs.
  • Promote residents' independence, wellbeing and social inclusion.
  • Assist residents in accessing healthcare, education, employment, training and community services.
  • Participate in assessments, support planning and regular reviews.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues and external agencies.
  • Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with GDPR and professional standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and ongoing care planning.
  • Support residents in understanding their rights and accessing appropriate services.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe and supportive living environment.
  • Participate in mandatory training, supervision and continuous professional development.

Requirements

  • CORU registered as a Social Care Worker, or eligible for registration with an active application.
  • A qualification recognised by CORU.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and professional practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and report-writing abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota when required.

Desirable Experience

We would particularly welcome applicants with experience in:

  • Supporting people seeking international protection or refugees.
  • Residential or community-based social care services.
  • Advocacy, case management and person-centred planning.
  • Multicultural environments.
  • Trauma-informed practice.

Working Hours

  • Approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Flexible shifts scheduled between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • One weekend in four, with daytime hours only (10:00 am – 2:00 pm).
  • Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota is required.
