This is a unique role that offers the right person a lot of autonomy but will also need to work well as part of a team, actively contributing to the department’s development and continued success. Initially, the role will involve assisting with all aspects of Elgin’s operations with a particular focus on corporate matters, real estate, energy and funding.  
What you will do: 

• Manage Real Estate negotiations including options, agreements for lease, easements etc. for the assembly of large scale solar and storage sites across Italy  
• Support the development team in corporate matters including Share Purchase Agreements (SPA), Development Service Agreements (DSA), Framework Agreements (FA) negotiations with Solar & Storage regional co-developers, who will partner with Elgin to develop projects on the ground in Italy. 
• Manage development funding obligations including securing project finance and other funding arrangements. 
• Collaborate with various internal departments and stakeholders to provide legal support throughout the project lifecycle.  
• Collaborate with and have recurring meetings with the inhouse legal team sitting in Dublin, interacting as a cohesive group, making sure to maintain the same approaches and high standards
• Conduct legal research, assess risks, and provide recommendations related to project executive and compliance.  
• Review project contracts, agreements, and related documents.  
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure legal compliance.  
• Experience across a range of corporate transactions including mergers & acquisitions restructurings and venture capital. 
• Highly organised and efficient with an ability to manage multiple priorities and ensure deadlines are consistently met. 
• Review and advise on commercial contracts such as letters of engagement and agreements with third party suppliers; and  
• Manage and instruct external counsel. 

• To be fluent in Italian and English is essential: demonstrating excellence in both verbal communication and written technical legal vocabulary.  
• 5+ years strong post qualification experience obtained in a top-tier firm or in-house. 
• Experience to include energy, projects, financing, and corporate. 
• Excellent drafting, communication, and organisational skills. 
• A high level of motivation and a friendly manner to enable effective and positive engagement with colleagues, external legal counsel, and key stakeholders. 
• The ability to work proactively and within a team. 
• A flexible approach to work to be undertaken.
