Service Technician (all genders)

Your position

In this key role, you will report directly to the Head of Steel Division and oversee all stages of refractory installation projects at customer sites. You will ensure the correct application and performance of RHI Magnesita's products and solutions in accordance with company standards and technical specifications. Acting as a central technical interface, you will collaborate closely with site operators, installation teams, sales colleagues, production specialists, equipment experts, and external partners. You will also support product trials, refractory lining engineering activities, and the development of innovative solutions for our customers. This position requires frequent travel within Italy and occasional international travel.

Your tasks

• Supervising the installation of refractory products and solutions at customer sites


• Monitoring the performance and application of RHI Magnesita products and services


• Managing inventory and supporting materials planning on site


• Assisting with troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational support for RHI Magnesita-supplied equipment


• Investigating product and process issues through reports, photographs, samples, and technical documentation


• Supporting Marketing activities by engineering refractory lining solutions and coordinating product trials

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related technical field


• Several years of professional experience within international or global industrial organizations


• Strong technical background and high affinity for engineering and industrial processes


• Ideally, experience within the steel industry; previous exposure to steel production environments is considered a strong advantage


• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach


• Understanding of AI, machine learning, and generative AI applications in business environments would be an advantage

Languages: English- Fluent, Italian – Fluent

Nice to have: Knowledge of sales techniques and the potential and willingness to grow into a broader commercial role in the future.
