Fund Accountant Private Assets

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Fund Accountant to join a Central Administration team in Luxembourg.

In this role, you will be responsible for the accounting and oversight of complex fund structures investing in Real Estate, Infrastructure, Private Debt and Private Equity. You will ensure that transactions and NAV calculations are processed accurately, within agreed deadlines and in compliance with applicable accounting standards, including Lux GAAP, IFRS and/or US GAAP.

You will also be responsible for reviewing and approving the work performed by other Fund Accountants.

Working arrangement: 100% onsite – no homeworking allowed.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform NAV calculations and NAV oversight, including portfolio valuation bookings and investor activities.
  


• Monitor and investigate potential risks during reporting periods and ensure ongoing compliance.
  


• Anticipate potential risks and assess their impact on NAV calculations and transactions.
  


• Escalate issues appropriately and contribute to the resolution of operational and accounting queries.
  


• Ensure that Custodian, Depositary/Safekeeping and Transfer Agency duties are correctly applied and respected.
  


• Support client billing and liaise with key stakeholders regarding KPIs during reporting periods.
  


• Review and approve the work performed by Fund Accountants within offshore operations teams.
  


• Ensure agreed timelines and quality standards are consistently respected.
  

Essential Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Fund Accounting, with a focus on financial services and fund structures.
  


• Strong knowledge of IFRS, Lux GAAP and/or US GAAP.
  


• Solid understanding of NAV calculation, fund accounting processes and portfolio valuation.
  


• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  


• Ability to work effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  


• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external service providers.
  


• Excellent understanding of banking operations, processes and quality requirements.
  


• Ability to professionally represent the organisation with internal and external stakeholders.
  


• Fluent in both French and English.
  

Desirable

• ACCA qualification or equivalent.
  


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  


• Previous experience reviewing or supervising the work of other Fund Accountants.
