Pwc Luxembourg is hiring a Risk Management Banking (Senior) Associate (m/f/d). What if it was you?
Your mission: In this role, you will join our team of experts supporting PwC clients in achieving excellence in risk management practices and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. You will contribute to the delivery of high-quality advisory services, providing tailored solutions and supporting the design and implementation of robust risk frameworks and systems for banks, investment firms and other financial institutions in Luxembourg and globally. Depending on your experience, you will progressively take ownership of workstreams, contribute to client interactions and play an active role in delivering impactful outcomes.
Be a part of our team where you will:
- Develop expertise in key risk management topics including risk identification, measurement, governance, compliance and financial performance;
- Contribute to the delivery of client engagements through quantitative and/or qualitative analyses and the preparation of high-quality deliverables;
- Perform gap analyses and support the design, implementation and enhancement of regulatory and risk frameworks, reports and disclosures;
- Analyse regulatory texts (e.g. CRR, CRD, Basel standards, EBA Guidelines, RTS/ITS, CSSF Circulars) and translate them into practical insights;
- Support advisory assignments covering regulatory compliance, risk transformation and broader risk management topics;
- Depending on your level of experience, take ownership of specific workstreams, review work performed by others and ensure quality of deliverables;
- Contribute to client interactions and progressively build strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
- Support project coordination activities including planning, stakeholder communication and tracking of deliverables;
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the team’s methodologies, tools and knowledge-sharing initiatives;
- Stay up to date on regulatory developments and market trends and share insights within the team.
Let’s talk about you. If you…
- Have a Master’s degree from a University, Engineering School or Business School;
- Have between 0 and 6 years of experience within banking risk management, regulatory advisory, consulting or financial services (including internships for more junior profiles);
- Demonstrate a strong interest in banking risk management topics and a willingness to stay up to date with market and regulatory developments;
- Have knowledge of some of the following areas: Banking business models and key risks (credit, liquidity, market, operational, etc.);
- Enterprise Risk Management frameworks and concepts (e.g. COSO);
- Risk management processes (risk identification, assessment, aggregation, monitoring and reporting);
- Key EU regulations guiding banking risk management practices (Basel framework, CRR/CRD, ECB, EBA and CSSF guidelines and circulars);
- ESG risks and related regulatory expectations for financial institutions;
- Risk management tools and technologies;
- Quantitative analysis and risk modelling techniques (e.g. stress testing, statistical approaches).
- Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand complex topics and identify pragmatic solutions.
- Are able to work collaboratively within a team while progressively taking ownership of tasks and deliverables;
- Depending on your level of experience, are able to independently manage tasks, coordinate stakeholders and contribute to project delivery;
- Communicate effectively and interact with internal and external stakeholders;
- Show a proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative;
- Have excellent command of MS Office tools;
- Have excellent written and spoken English; French and/or German are considered an asset.
Additional for quantitative profiles:
- Have knowledge or experience, depending on seniority, in quantitative risk modelling frameworks and methodologies (e.g. IFRS9, IRB, IRRBB, stress testing, Expected Shortfall, Monte Carlo simulations, BCBS 239);
- Have exposure to or experience with data management frameworks, model validation or quantitative risk analysis;
- Have knowledge of programming languages and analytical tools such as VBA, SQL, Python and/or R;
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail and accuracy in analysing, producing or reviewing data and risk-related outputs.
