Supervisor - Risk & Control

Arbeitsbeschreibung - Supervisor - Risk & Control

What’s the role?

The QC Supervisor, Quality Control supports risk-focused review of investor-facing deliverables and fund governing-document analysis across a multi-jurisdictional book of private equity and alternative fund clients, with a primary technical focus on Luxembourg GAAP fund reporting (alongside exposure to IFRS, FRS 101/102, and US GAAP). The QC Supervisor works under the guidance of the Lux Head of Quality Control (“QC Manager”), performing assigned reviews within established checklists and risk rating criteria, and escalates new or unresolved technical positions, cross-fund precedent questions, or client-relationship-sensitive matters for guidance before proceeding. The role combines hands-on review work, contribution to QC process infrastructure (checklists, risk rubrics, issue logs), and participation in the rollout and day-to-day use of Gen II's AI-powered QC platform (verifii).

What you’ll be doing

Deliverable & LPA Review

  • Perform risk-focused review of investor-facing deliverables — capital call and distribution allocations/notices, financial statements, capital account statements — escalating high-risk or ambiguous items to the QC Manager for review and sign-off.

  • Support new fund set-up review under the guidance of the QC Manager: assist with analysis of governing documents (LPAs, management company agreements, side letters, organizational charts) to help identify key fund economics, waterfall mechanics, carried interest and management fee calculation, and preferred return computation, contributing to risk-rated term summaries.

  • Support resolution follow-through with Client Service Teams (CSTs) on issues identified in QC review, and help maintain the QC issue log under the direction of the QC Manager.

Workflow & Process Support

  • Complete assigned QC cases within agreed timelines and complexity/risk guidelines set by the QC Manager, and flag capacity or scheduling conflicts proactively.

  • Receive and apply coaching and feedback from the QC Manager on review technique, disposition standards, and escalation judgment; participate actively in performance check-ins.

  • Share learnings and observations with peers to support consistent application of review technique and disposition standards across the QC team.

  • Check the timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of checklists prepared by CSTs and Depositary functions, and flag adherence gaps to the QC Manager; support the annual review of Fund Accounting policies and procedures as directed.

  • Document QC review observations and recurring findings and support the QC Manager in preparing training sessions for CSTs.

Controls & Governance

  • Assist with SOC 1 (SSAE 18) and ISAE 3402 audit coordination, including gathering and reviewing supporting documentation and control evidence as assigned.

  • Help review Business and Quality Control observations for control-design or operating-effectiveness gaps and document them for the QC Manager's remediation planning.

verifii & QC Technology

  • Support the QC-side team for verifii, Gen II's AI-powered QC review platform: contribute to functional requirements, user stories, and UAT scope, and help validate that platform outputs meet QC review and disposition standards before rollout.

  • Support sponsor and internal user onboarding for verifii, including Super User enablement, training materials, and rollout communications to stakeholders.

  • Monitor and report on automation and accuracy metrics (e.g., automation rate, QC accuracy benchmarks) to identify where the platform should be tuned or where manual review remains necessary.

  • Partner with the verifii delivery team (including third-party technical partners) to translate QC risk rubrics and checklist logic into platform requirements, and flag drift between platform behavior and current QC standards.

Technical Support (assisting the QC Manager and Director)

  • Research technical accounting and industry developments — new pronouncements, market trends, and regulatory changes affecting Luxembourg GAAP, IFRS, FRS 101/102, and US GAAP fund reporting.

  • Assist with research and drafting for firm-wide technical accounting and regulatory bulletins.

  • Support the compilation and analysis of QC review data used in management-level reporting on QC volumes, findings, and trends.

  • Respond to routine Client Service Team questions on QC standards and best practices, escalating more complex questions to the QC Manager.

  • Support other QC Department projects and administrative work as needed.

The ideal background for this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting; public/private accounting experience.

  • 6+ years of relevant private equity fund, private equity fund-of-fund, or investment company accounting and reporting experience; exposure to Luxembourg fund structures a plus.

  • Sound knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP fund reporting, fund economics (waterfalls, allocations, carried interest, management fees), and fund structuring (corporate, partnership, tax blockers, investor classifications).

  • Working familiarity with IFRS, FRS 101/102, and/or US GAAP (ASC 946) fund reporting a plus.

  • Openness to coaching and feedback, and a collaborative approach to working within a review team.

  • Comfort working with AI-assisted review tooling and providing feedback on platform outputs.

  • Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing processes in a fast-moving environment, and think independently under deadline pressure.

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

  • Strong with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other reporting/workflow tools.

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based in our Luxembourg office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working.
