Responsibilities
- Oversee daily engineering operations, ensuring all maintenance activities and work orders are completed and properly recorded
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for all M&E systems, equipment, and facilities
- Lead, supervise, and manage Engineering team members, including performance management, scheduling, and training
- Monitor and ensure optimal operation of all plant, equipment, and building systems
- Support energy conservation initiatives and monitor utility consumption to improve efficiency
- Manage inventory, stock control, and ensure availability of engineering supplies
- Drive cost control measures while maintaining operational efficiency and service standards
- Plan and execute special projects, repairs, and improvement works as assigned
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards
- Lead and manage Fire & Life Safety (FLS) programmes, including inspections, maintenance, training, and emergency preparedness
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and act as Emergency Response Team (ERT) leader when required
- Maintain effective communication with all departments to support hotel operations
- Prepare reports, maintenance plans, and updates for the Director of Engineering
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in hotel engineering, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of building systems, M&E equipment, and hotel engineering operations
- Experience in preventive maintenance planning and project management
- Good understanding of Fire & Life Safety systems and regulatory compliance
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Cost-conscious with knowledge of budgeting and inventory control
- Familiar with safety regulations, environmental practices, and energy conservation
- Flexible and able to respond to emergencies when required
