Responsibilities



  • Operate, monitor, and maintain the hotel's high and low voltage electrical distribution systems in accordance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (Energy Commission) regulations.

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment, switchboards, transformers, generators, and related systems.

  • Respond promptly to electrical faults and emergencies to minimise operational downtime.

  • Monitor Building Management System (BMS), electrical panels, and utility consumption.

  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance, repairs, and project works.

  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with statutory requirements and safety regulations.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment records.

  • Assist in planning and implementing energy conservation initiatives.

  • Ensure proper lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices are followed.

  • Support hotel operations by attending to guest and departmental maintenance requests.

  • Participate in emergency response procedures, including power failures and fire safety drills.

  • Maintain good housekeeping within plant rooms, substations, and engineering work areas.

  • Perform other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Management.


 


Requirements



  • Possess a valid Chargeman A4 Certificate issued by Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within hotels, commercial buildings, hospitals, or large facilities.

  • Good understanding of electrical distribution systems, generators, transformers, UPS, and LV systems.

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and safety regulations.

  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) is an advantage.

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults independently.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Willing to work on rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

  • Basic computer literacy for maintenance reporting.
