Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

• To support daily kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety and quality standards are consistently met in accordance with company SOPs.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

Food Preparation & Production

• Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, cutting, marinating, and portioning ingredients.


• Prepare food items according to standard recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff.


• Support cooking operations during service periods as directed.

Kitchen Hygiene & Safety

• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, workstations, utensils, and equipment at all times.


• Follow food safety, hygiene, and personal grooming standards strictly.


• Ensure proper storage of food items using FIFO and correct labeling procedures.


• Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely in accordance with SOPs.

Quality Control

• Report any quality issues, damaged ingredients, or equipment malfunction to the Demi Chef or Supervisor.

Inventory & Stock Handling

• Assist in receiving and checking food supplies against delivery orders.


• Store ingredients correctly to prevent spoilage and contamination.


• Support stock rotation, stock count, and waste control activities.

Team Support & Operations

• Follow instructions from Demi Chef and support smooth kitchen workflow.


• Assist during peak hours, events, or high-volume operations.


• Demonstrate teamwork and willingness to learn across different kitchen sections.

Compliance & SOP Adherence

• Adhere to all kitchen SOPs, Halal requirements, and health and safety regulations.


• Participate in training and briefings as required.

Other Responsibilities

• Perform any other duties and projects as assigned by Management in support of F&B business objectives.

• Able to gracefully receive constructive criticism as well as effectively carry out orders


• Ensure food prepared meets quality, taste, and presentation standards before service.

Skills

• Required skills; food preparations and detail-oriented skills


• Able to prepare and serve meals out of kitchen environment


• Knowledge of HACCP, Food and Safety Hygiene Procedures


• Work well independently and part of a small team environment


• Pleasant and presentable

Relevant Industries

• Preferable at least minimum 2 to 3 years relevant working experience in food operations industry

Education

• STPM/Certificate in Culinary Arts or SPM credit in Bahasa Melayu, pass in Mathematics and English
