Dean, Faculty of Dentistry

Our client is a well-established private education group with
multi-campus presence in Malaysia.

To
lead and manage the Faculty so that it makes a significant contribution to the
operation and strategic development of the University. To represent the Faculty
at management level and committee meetings as required.

Responsibilities:

1.        Management

• To make an active contribution to the University's
  strategic development.
  
• To represent and promote the interests of the
  University.
   
  

2.        Academic Leadership

• To lead the academic development of the Faculty.
  
• To support activities to maximise the impact of
  research, as appropriate and to develop a supportive research culture within
  the Faculty, with due regard for the need to manage the delivery of results and
  contribute to the Faculty’s research targets.
  
• To ensure professional accreditation of programmes as
  appropriate to the discipline.
  
• To be accountable for the effective delivery of
  programmes, modules and related activities associated with the Faculty, and be
  proactive in enhancing and developing the quality of the students’ learning
  experience and the quality of teaching.
  
• To maintain an appropriate academic contribution in
  agreement with the SEGi University Management.
  

3.        Financial Management

• To be responsible for the effective financial
  management of the Department.
  

4.        Strategic Planning

• To take a leading role in the development of the
  portfolio of activities across the Faculty and manage all staff within the
  Faculty.
  

5.        Governance

• To ensure that the activities of the Faculty are
  undertaken in accordance with the governance, policy and regulatory frameworks
  of the University.
  

6.        Marketing and Communications

• To develop and promote the internal and external profile of the Faculty, ensuring effective communication channels and appropriate interaction with staff, students, and professional bodies.
  

Requirements

• Possess a Basic Degree recognised by the Malaysian
  Dental Council (MDC)and post-graduation qualification in relevant field. PhD is
  an added advantage.
  
• A minimum of 15years working experience in academia of
  which at least 5years holding an academic leadership position.           
  
• Demonstrated high level academic and/or professional
  leadership experience.
  
• Good knowledge and well versed with MQA, MOHE and the
  Professional Body requirements.
  
• Solid analytical, problem solving and administrative
  skills especially in curriculum planning/development and implementation.
