JOB SUMMARY :
Support the Group’s direct tax compliance and reporting functions by preparing tax provisions, coordinating tax return submissions, assisting with tax audits and regulatory queries, and supporting tax planning initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and statutory requirements.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
1. Prepare and review tax provisions for tax estimates and deferred tax computations on a monthly, quarterly, yearly basis in collaboration with Finance and business units.
2. Coordinate with subsidiaries and relevant stakeholders to compile accounting and tax information for preparation of income tax computations and tax returns.
3. Liaise with subsidiaries and external tax agents to ensure timely completion and submission of tax returns in compliance with statutory deadlines.
4. Support the management of tax audits, investigations, and queries by tax authorities, including preparation of required information and documentation.
5. Assist in tax planning initiatives, advisory matters, and ad hoc tax-related projects as assigned.
6. Monitor and keep updated on relevant tax laws, regulations and developments to support compliance and operational requirements.
Qualification : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MICPA, etc.)
Desired experience/exposure
1. At least 1 - 3 years of experience in tax compliance. Advantageous to have a combination of in-house experience with a multinational enterprise and relevant experience with a Big 4 firm.
2. Possesses knowledge and experience in the relevant industry, which will be considered an added advantage.
Special skills required
1. Working knowledge of local tax laws, regulations, and tax compliance requirements.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial and tax-related data accurately.
3. Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
4. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Finance and external tax agents.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
