The impact you’ll make

As a Facilities Facilities Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you will lead and manage the facilities mechanical systems. You are the system owner to manage the reliability of facilities, mechanical systems like chillers, cooling towers, air compressors, dryers, fire and life safety systems including all cleanroom equipment. You will be managing system expansion related to new projects, providing technical solutions for repair and maintenance works, life cycle maintenance for system owned and managing facilities operation management team. For new projects or expansions, you will work with consultants to design and commission new systems. You will be required to work on improvement projects such as energy management and sustainability related projects. You must be able to coordinate and engage with cross-functional teams through meetings and progressive measurement to deliver facilities operational excellence. 

What you’ll do

• Manages vendor relationships and ensures vendors performance to facilities operations requirements.


• You will manage the integrated facilities management team to upkeep Cleanroom HVAC systems, chillers, air compressors, vacuum & HT/LV electrical systems etc.


• Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of IFM resources, including overtime.


• Responsible for facilities inspections and reports.


• Conducts financial/business analysis including preparation of reports.  


• Obtains and reviews price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for facility service and small projects. 


• Prepares operating budget and variance reports.  


• Responsible for invoice processing and accuracy of cost center coding.


• Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.


• Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, and corrective action.


• Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.


• Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.


• Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with company values.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking a Facilities mechanical engineer who is passionate about managing facilities of semiconductor manufacturing operation and associated facilities. The ideal candidate must have semiconductor operation including cleanroom managing experience.  We need strong skills in communication, teamwork & leadership capability to manage facilities team and multi-layer contractors. 

Preferred qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or equivalent; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
