(This role is a 12 months contract third party engagement)

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our finance team. This role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial closing, balance sheet reconciliations, and continuous process improvements in line with accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly and yearly financial closing activities in accordance with accounting standards


• Prepare income statement analysis and balance sheet schedules


• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring aged items are properly analysed and explained


• Implement and execute accounting processes in line with the designed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)


• Drive process improvements to address errors and close process gaps


• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the assigned Opex portfolio, providing guidance and responding to stakeholder queries


• Resolve operations and system-related issues in a timely manner


• Perform any other related duties as assigned from time to time

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting / Finance


• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience


• Experience in external audit


• Exposure to complex systems environments; telecommunications (telco) background is an added advantage


• Experience in financial closing for a public listed company


• Strong knowledge of MFRS (Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards)


• Experience in finance system migration and SAP will be an advantage


• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
