Manager, Regional Cash Office Kota Kinabalu, Currency

The Regional Cash Office Manager is instrumental in ensuring effective execution of the Bank’s mandates related to currency operation and processing in the region. The role is responsible to supervise and lead the regional currency management team to ensure availability, quality and integrity of currency in the region, adherence to guidelines and corporate governance while contributing towards cost efficiency and sustainability initiatives.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Lead the formulation of strategies to ensure sufficient inventory level are maintained to meet regional demand, including relevant manpower and business continuity planning.


2. Supervise and monitor banknotes processing operation, handling of defaced currency and counterfeit, and undertake awareness programs for the purpose of maintaining quality and integrity of currency in the region.


3. Supervise, monitor and verify reports to ensure compliance with the established guidelines and procedures relating to currency management, safety & health, and other administrative duties.


4. Lead and manage collaboration with all key stakeholders and strategic partners to ensure effective delivery of the Bank’s currency mandates.


5. Manage contractual agreement and oversee performance of the service providers to ensure compliance with the Service Level Agreement. Supervise procurement and monitor contracts of consumables, tools and critical spare parts to ensure continuity of operation.


6. Supervise periodic reviews, propose improvements or updates to the existing work process, standard operating procedures, and guidelines, as well as initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity and sustainability of currency eco system in the region. Perform relief function and undertake other tasks as and when required.


7. Manage and oversee human capital related matters including talent demand and supply, wellness and adherence to the Bank’s Code of Conduct. Formulate and manage the regional operating plan to ensure efficient and effective utilisation.


8. Supervise and participate in the department's project/initiative and collaborate with other section within JMW to ensure smooth operation.


9. Identify and oversees development of training roadmaps for self and subordinates in relevant area and keep abreast of the latest development in related fields or on changes in Acts/Regulations.
   
    

• Academic Qualifications: Master, Degree or professional qualifications in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent.

• Experience: Preferably 6 to 8 years’ experience in currency eco system and management, including process and people management. Knowledgeable in Banking and Finance.
