Job Responsibilities
1. Tooling Design & Development
• Design and develop injection molds (multi-cavity, hot runner, 3-plate molds)
• Define gating, cooling, venting, and material selection
• Review mold flow analysis and improve tooling performance
• Ensure tooling meets production capacity and cycle time targets
2. Tooling Validation & Testing
• Support mold trials (T0, T1, T2)
• Perform FAI, PPAP, Cp/Cpk, and DOE activities
• Troubleshoot tooling issues such as flash, short shot, warpage, and sink marks
3. Manufacturing Support
• Provide hands-on support to solve production issues
• Improve cycle time, yield, and mold performance
• Conduct root cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone)
4. Supplier Management
• Work with toolmakers and suppliers to review designs and fabrication
• Ensure tooling quality, cost, and delivery targets are met
5. New Product Introduction (NPI)
• Support new tooling development for new products
• Ensure smooth production ramp-up and tool transfer
6. Team Support
• Guide and mentor junior engineers
• Drive continuous improvement and best practices
Job Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die, or related field
• Minimum 3 years in tooling design and manufacturing
• Strong experience in injection molding and high-volume production
• Knowledge in mold design (hot runner, cooling, gating, etc.)
• Familiar with GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Experience with Moldflow / Moldex3D
• Skilled in CAD software (Creo, NX, SolidWorks)
Working hours:
Mon to Fri, 8am to 5:45pm
