Planning Engineer

Job Description

We are Sisco Jobs, a recruitment consultancy based in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. We are hiring on behalf of our client for the position of Planning Engineer in Malaysia. Our client is a reputed organization in the Manufacturing / Structural Steel Engineering sector seeking skilled, motivated professionals. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and track Material Requisitions (MR), Purchase Orders (PO), and Material Shortage Reports.
  
• Prepare and verify cutting plans, drawings, and material issuance documentation.
  
• Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, workshop, and subcontractors regarding material availability.
  
• Maintain raw material summaries, nesting registers, and stock utilization records.
  
• Prepare weekly project progress reports and workload summaries.
  
• Monitor beamline production activities and material movement.
  
• Liaise with QA/QC teams for material inspections and compliance.
  
• Control manpower allocation and production schedules based on workload.
  

Required Skills

1. Material Planning & Inventory Control – Manage material requirements and shortages.
   
2. Production Planning – Coordinate fabrication and cutting schedules.
   
3. Engineering Drawings Review – Verify latest revisions before issue.
   
4. Documentation Management – Maintain planning and material records.
   
5. Coordination & Reporting – Work with multiple departments and subcontractors.
   

Preferred Skills

• ERP / Planning Software knowledge
  
• Manufacturing process understanding
  
• Structural steel fabrication exposure
  

Work Experience Requirements

Experience in production planning, material planning, fabrication planning, manufacturing operations, or structural steel projects is preferred. Typical experience range: 2–5 years in an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Education

• Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering (Typical)
  
• Preferred: Engineering -related certification
  
• Additional: Planning or Project Management certifications
