Position: Plant Manager

Location: Bayan Lepas, Penang

Job Overview:

• Dual-Site Operations: Lead manufacturing operations for two factories in Penang, Malaysia and Taiwan (producing the same product line, managing ~150 total employees).
• Strategic Execution: Direct and implement operational strategies to align with company business targets and annual plan goals.
• Operational Excellence: Maximize efficiency, improve on-time delivery performance, and ensure a reliable product flow to meet customer demand.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate across matrix management relationships with support functions, including Quality, Facilities, Engineering, and Logistics.

Responsibilities

• Operational & Cost Leadership: Drive continuous improvement across both Penang and Taiwan sites to optimize cost structures, lead times, quality, asset utilization, and on-time delivery.
• Technology & Process Modernization: Coordinate tech development and upgrade manufacturing standards, workflows, and high-efficiency work cells across both plants.
• Toolbox & Lean Execution: Lead daily Gemba walks, implement Lean/Toolbox methods, track operational metrics, and champion continuous improvement initiatives.
• Budget & Strategic Planning: Manage operational budgets, CAPEX, headcount planning, and performance metrics, regularly presenting updates to key stakeholders.
• Talent & Safety Culture: Mentor and develop plant teams, maintain proper staffing levels, and foster a strong, safe, and high-performance culture.
• Quality & Matrix Collaboration: Maintain ISO standards, satisfy customer quality expectations, and partner with matrix leaders (Finance, HR, Sales, IT, Sourcing).

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Degree in Engineering
• Experience: 10+ years in production/plant management, including 5+ years in senior leadership within a multinational company (MNC preferred).
• Core Expertise: Hands-on leadership in production operations, supply chain, logistics, and Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Industry Background: Precision instrumentation or semiconductor support experience preferred.
• Languages: English, Malay and Chinese (as required to liaise with Taiwan counterpart)
