Project Manager I

Purpose Statement: To plan and manage limited scope engineering projects for PLXS-ENG customers.\n\nKey Job Accountabilities:\n\n * Business Development - Supports the customer development process in winning new business and is directly responsible for developing repeat business with previous and/or current customers.\n * Work-sharing Support - Accountable for proactively identifying work packages or opportunities that should be work shared. Works effectively with the Mgr - Engineering to promote inter-design center project staffing model while balancing individual needs of the project, customer, and employee.\n * Manages customers\u2019 expectations regarding all aspects of the project. This includes setting expectations for the challenges in developing products and test systems. Expectations shall also be managed regarding project scope, schedule, budget, risks, deliverables, and any changes to the original proposal.\n * Manages projects to successful financial execution with the goal of 100% conversion. Utilizes Plexus business systems to accurately project revenue for both active projects and opportunities\n * Effectively manages the team resources and leads the program to a successful execution. This includes partnering with the engineering team to identify solutions to meet the customer\u0027s needs. It is also important to partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and third party suppliers to ensure Plexus\u2019 design are successfully introduced into Plexus Manufacturing Solutions sites. Responsible for developing future Plexus leaders.\n * \n\n\nEducation/Experience Qualifications:\n\n * A minimum of a Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering or related field is required; a Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering or related field is preferred.\n * Five (5) years of related experience is required; Five (5) or more years of related experience is preferred.\n\n\n\nOther Qualifications:\n\n * Intermediate Computer Skills\n * Intermediate Decision making, Problem Solving Skills\n * Intermediate Verbal and Written Communication Skills\n * Possesses a general understanding and experience in at least one discipline (e.g. analog, digital, mechanical, software, PCB, test) of electronic product development\n * Possess a general understanding of the product development and product realization processes\n * Possess good project management skills and knowledge of management principles\n * Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment\n * Possess strong team building and team leadership skills\n * Possess strong organizational, presentation, and leadership skills\n * Ability to handle demanding schedules including travel to customer sites\n * Possess conflict resolution and negotiation skills\n * General office equipment and materials\n\n\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\n * N/A\n\n\n\nTravel Requirements:\n\n * N/A\n\n\n\nThis document does not represent a contract of employment and is not intended to capture every possible assignment the incumbent could be asked to perform.\n
