Purchasing Supervisor (Penang)

• Supervises day-to-day operations of assigned team members, providing guidance, scheduling tasks, and ensuring work output meets quality and performance standards.
  
• Manage a small team of buyers, train, support, and monitor each buyer’s performance and compliance to company guidelines.
  
• Has authority to issue warnings and recommend disciplinary actions, including escalations to HR or higher management when needed.
  
• Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  
• Educate suppliers of performance measurements and continuous improvements.
  
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals
  
• Evaluates and monitor supplier quality and delivery performance against corporate zero defects and on time delivery objectives together with smooth logistic requirements and work with related team to improve the performance.
  
• Develops a good working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to make purchases at prices consistent with quantity and quality requirements and within established standard costs.
  

Requirements

•  Good knowledge of SAP.
  
•  Experience as a buyer in semiconductor industry , or contract manufacturer environment.
  
•  Manage a group of direct material buyer, or the leader of a commodity group.
  
•  Familiar with procurement system and procedures.
  
•  Raise reasonable recommendation in improving and make communication / business dealing more efficient and effective.
  
•  Knowledge of vendor management and inventory management system
  
•  An analytical mind with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  
•  Preferable knowleagable in using Power BI, Tableau, Macro etc.
  
•  Bachelor degree in Business Administration / Purchasing / Logistic/ Material Management or equivalent education and/or experience.
