Senior Engineer Fastener Tool Design

We have an urgent requirement for  Senior Engineer – Fastener Tool Design for our client in Malaysia. 

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer in Fastener Tool Design to lead the design, development, and optimization of precision tooling for fastener manufacturing. In this role, you will drive engineering projects from initial concept through to production validation, ensuring high efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

•  Tooling Design: Lead the design and detailing of cold heading dies, forming tools, and precision components using advanced CAD software.

•   Project Leadership: Manage tool design projects independently, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

•   Process Optimization: Collaborate closely with manufacturing and production teams to improve tool life, reduce cycle times, and resolve technical bottlenecks.

•     Troubleshooting: Conduct root-cause analysis for tooling failures and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.

•    Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, sharing technical expertise in tool design, materials, and machining processes.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Around 10 years of hands-on experience in tool design, specifically within the fastener manufacturing or precision engineering sector.

•Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA) and deep knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Material Knowledge: Sound understanding of tool steels, heat treatment processes, and surface treatments for high-wear tooling.
