Senior Manager, Compliance

Reporting directly to the Director of Compliance who is based in Singapore. This role will cover multiple aspects of compliance including AML, sanctions, regulatory compliance and advisory. This role is ideal for an experienced compliance professional who thrives in a fast-moving fintech environment, is excellent at collaborating with cross-function teams, and sets up processes and controls in a scalable manner.  

Key responsibilities:

• Perform regulatory and financial crime risk assessments prior to new product launches, identifying key areas where changes in processes are needed and working with stakeholders to put the changes in place
• Serve as escalation point for topics including AML and Sanctions, and provide regulatory advisory to stakeholders
• Keep track of regulatory changes and notifications from regulator, perform gap analysis and work with stakeholders to implement processes
• Review and updating of compliance policies and procedures
• Work closely with internal stakeholders such as Business, Product and Operational Units, as well as any relevant external stakeholders in regard to compliance matters
• Help with inspections, filings, surveys and regulatory communications
• Reporting and escalation to Group Compliance, as needed
• Support the Director of Compliance with regional initiatives and handle any other compliance tasks as required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Law, Business, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in compliance within financial institutions; experience in fintech or payments is a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysia regulatory requirements (BNM, AMLA, etc.) and international compliance standards including sanctions.
• Strong ability to balance business growth with regulatory requirements, offering pragmatic recommendations
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Experience in payments regulations across South East Asia is a strong advantage
