Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for the planning, coordination and supervision of civil maintenance and infrastructure activities, including pavement, buildings, structures and other airport facilities, to ensure safe, reliable and efficient airport operations. The position coordinates projects, contractors, consultants and stakeholders, monitors maintenance performance, costs and quality, and ensures compliance with applicable CAAM regulations, safety requirements and airport standards. The role also provides technical guidance and leadership to the maintenance team, supports continuous improvement, manages infrastructure risks and ensures timely corrective actions to maintain asset serviceability and operational continuity.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

• Project & Contractor Coordination – Coordinate maintenance and infrastructure projects with contractors, consultants and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery within approved scope, budget and quality requirements.


• Maintenance Planning & Scheduling – Plan and monitor maintenance of pavement, buildings, structures and infrastructure to ensure serviceability, reliability and compliance with best practices.


• Compliance & Safety – Ensure maintenance, repair and construction activities comply with applicable regulations, standards, safety requirements and airport procedures.


• CAAM Audit, Regulatory Compliance & Readiness – Ensure compliance with applicable CAAM regulations and requirements, support audits and inspections, maintain proper documentation, and ensure timely closure of audit findings and corrective actions.


• Technical Analysis & Continuous Improvement – Analyse maintenance reports and breakdown trends, identify recurring issues and recommend corrective and improvement actions.


• Cost & Budget Management – Assess maintenance and repair costs and provide recommendations for effective budget planning and cost optimisation.


• Leadership & Team Development – Provide guidance and direction to subordinates while promoting efficiency, productivity, teamwork, quality and competency development.


• Infrastructure Performance Management – Monitor the condition and performance of infrastructure assets and recommend suitable maintenance, repair and improvement strategies.


• Risk Management & Operational Continuity – Identify infrastructure and maintenance risks and implement measures to minimise operational disruptions and ensure safe airport operations.

Skills

• Airport Facilities Maintenance & Operations: Strong knowledge in the maintenance, operation and management of pavement, buildings, structures and other airport facilities, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance.


• Project Management: Updated knowledge of project planning, coordination, monitoring, cost, quality and schedule management.


• Contract Management: Good knowledge of construction contracts, contractual and legal requirements, claims, variations and value engineering.


• Airside Compliance & Regulations: Good understanding of airside safety, operational requirements, aviation regulations and compliance standards.


• Management & Leadership: Strong management, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving and team coordination skills.


• People Competency Development: Able to identify competency gaps and support staff development through coaching, training and knowledge sharing.

Relevant Industries

Advantageous Experience

• Experience in planning, coordinating and monitoring maintenance and infrastructure works, including liaising with contractors, consultants and relevant stakeholders, will be an added advantage.


• Knowledge of safety requirements, relevant standards, regulations and best practices related to pavement, building and infrastructure maintenance will be an added advantage.

Education

• Diploma holder in Transportation, Management or any related course.


• Experience in airport or aerodrome operations and infrastructure maintenance will be an added advantage.


• Experience in project and contract management, including coordination with consultants, contractors and relevant stakeholders, is preferred.


• Knowledge of airside compliance, safety requirements and applicable aviation regulations will be an added advantage.
