This is a temporary position until the end of 2027, focused on delivering Asset Readiness for the Sulphur value chain in the Sarawak Sour Gas Asset (R&M).
The role is full time and based in Bintulu.
At Company’s discretion, the incumbent may work at normal office hour of 5 working days per week
Occasionally, the Sulphur Operations Engineer will need to manage sulphur loading during odd hours, especially in the initial few loadings; however, this requirement is only temporary and will lessen after the process stabilises.

Sarawak Sour Gas (R&M) asset consists of below:-
Offshore: RMP Normally Unmanned Installation (NUI) process from subsea and dry tree systems to export pipeline with chemical injection, MEG injection, metering, and power generation system
IRF: Inlet receiving facility gas from R&M Offshore, separation, stabilization, compression and mercury removal prior to gas sweetening processing and gas/condensate metering.
GPU: Gas Processing Unit with high H2S acid gas removal, stabilization, sulphur recovery/palletization, and MEG system for export of sweet gas and sulphur to customers.
R&M OGP produces 800 MMscf/d of Gas and 17kboe/d of NGL at high Annual Operating Expenditure (OPEX). Gas production is expected to start in 2026 and will be piped to the neighboring Malaysia Liquified Natural Gas (MLNG) complex. R&M fields are situated approximately 220km off the coast of Bintulu. The project comprises a remotely operated offshore platform and onshore gas plant, with infrastructure that includes one of the longest sour wet gas offshore pipelines in the world stretching more than 200km. R&M will be mainly powered by renewable energy; utilizing solar power offshore and hydroelectric power onshore.
The Role:
Job Purpose
To lead and coordinate end-to-end operational readiness and execution for sulphur logistics and port interface operations, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient movement of sulphur from asset to port, including shiploader operations, warehousing/logistics processes, billing readiness, emergency response preparedness, and structured handover from Projects to Asset.
Scope of Role:
This role covers operational readiness and operationalisation of the sulphur export value chain, including:
Shiploader readiness and commissioning support.
Logistics & warehousing contract operational readiness.
Port interface execution readiness with Bintulu Port Holdings Berhad (BPHB), Harbour and PETCO.
External stakeholder alignment (roles & responsibilities, handover criteria, communication protocols)
Planning and execution for the entire Sulphur Value Chain.
HSSE readiness for the entire Sulphur Value Chain.
Billing & invoice alignment and operational controls for the Sulphur Operations
Readiness for first offloading and performance stabilisation.
Projects → Asset handover completion and close-out documentation

Key Accountabilities (What You Will Do)
A. Operational Readiness & Integration (End-to-End Value Chain)
Translate agreed commercial/contractual frameworks into workable operational processes across Asset–Warehouse–Port.
Drive internal alignment on:
Roles & responsibilities
Communication protocol
Handover criteria
Safe working processes
Develop and maintain an integrated readiness plan including milestone tracking to key events (dry-runs, training, drills, first offloading).
B. Shiploader Operationalisation & Training Readiness
Support the completion of shiploader commissioning and acceptance aligned to approved SAT requirements.
Coordinate and support training execution for Harbour & Asset teams
Ensure shiploader operating procedures, PTW/LOTO interfaces, and port operating constraints are integrated into operational plans.
C. Logistics & Warehousing Contract Readiness (Harbour Link)
Act as operations focal point to operationalise the logistics & warehousing contract:
KOM follow-up actions
end-to-end process mapping (OGP → warehouse → port)
container readiness planning and notices
dry-run readiness and execution support
Facilitate alignment on billing and invoicing flows, supporting Finance/Contract Holder to establish controls and cycle times.
D. External Stakeholder Alignment (BPHB, PETCO, Terex)
Plan and facilitate external stakeholder meetings to align on:
operating interface boundaries
what-if scenarios and contingencies
mitigation and escalation pathways
handover and acceptance criteria
Ensure agreed actions are documented with owners, due dates, and closure evidence.
E. Dry-Runs, Emergency Drill & First Offloading Readiness
Lead/coordinate physical dry-run preparation and execution:
Coordinate sulphur emergency drill readiness and ensure procedures are validated in practical scenarios.
Prepare the site and teams for notice of commencement and first offloading readiness (including final checklists and go/no-go criteria).
F. Handover from Projects to Asset (Governance & Assurance)
Ensure Projects → Asset handover is completed with:
commissioning completion evidence (as applicable)
SAT acceptance documentation
operating procedures, training records, and competency requirements
risk assessments, safe systems of work, and MOC closure (if applicable)
operational readiness sign-offs and readiness dossiers
G. HSSE & Compliance
Champion safe execution across all interfaces:
ensure safe working processes align with HSSE expectations
confirm emergency response arrangements and drills are adequate
ensure contractors adhere to safety requirements and permit systems
Identify operational risks and drive mitigation planning (what-if, contingency planning, barrier management).
Skills and Requirements:
>6years in managing the end-to-end value chain encompassing product management, logistics coordination, terminal operations, and oversight of cargo loading activities. This includes ensuring seamless integration across all process stages, optimising efficiency, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Experiences in planning, business performance, Contract Management, work process management and continuous improvement, preferably with Sour Gas Plant experiences.
Degree in any Engineering disciplines
Strong leadership, stakeholders’ management, planning, communication/writing and problem-solving skills especially managing the contractor related to Logistics, Cargo, Terminal and Port.
Skilled at working in complex business and regulatory environments with multiple external stakeholder interfaces
Proven track record of strong delivery.
Strong documentation discipline (procedures, checklists, readiness dossiers)
Ability to lead workshops, alignment meetings, and field execution coordination
