Our client is looking for a Vice President of Strategic Investments. This role will continuously strive to enhance shareholders’ value and safeguard the investments of the organisation and its managed unit trust funds in the Strategic Investments portfolio, ensuring optimal and sustainable returns. He/She will also support Head of Strategic Investments and supervise, coach, and manage Team Leads and team members in undertaking their tasks, including providing problem solving assistance.
Responsibilities:
Investment Monitoring
Provide strategic insights and provide guidance to the overall team within cluster on their individual monitoring exercise while demonstrating professional credibility and strategic acumen required to be considered for alternate directorships within the organisation.
Steer and guide the identification and execution of monetisation opportunities in line with the team’s agreed directional strategy, which may involve guidance on the inclusion of new SI portfolio companies.
Champion shareholder activism by strategically communicating concerns through all relevant channels and platforms in accordance with their Voting Guidelines, strategic directives, and other relevant mandates.
Stakeholders Management
Provide strategic direction for stakeholder engagement across cluster portfolio, fostering high level relationship with directors, senior managements, and industry players through effective BOD representation.
Drive strategic conversations during stakeholder engagements, ensuring effective communication and collaborations across internal departments and external parties.
Value Preservation
Oversee and guide the development and execution of value creation plans, driving the financial and operational performance of companies under cluster while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.
Review and validate regulatory assessments related to value creation initiatives and engage with internal legal/compliance teams to ensure alignment with corporate governance standards.
Others
Drive strategic and collaborative initiatives across the Group (situational) and provide guidance to all cluster members that supports both organizational objectives and individual growth aspirations.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Study or Law. Having a Master of Business Administration would be an advantage.
Minimum 10 years' working experience in related fields.
High -level strategic negotiations and decision making.
Technical Competencies: Valuation theory and capital structure analysis; Accounting proficiency, financial modeling and use of database; Industry knowledge; Regulatory & compliance awareness; Corporate strategy, operational analysis and value creation; Governance frameworks and shareholder leavers; Business report writing; Transaction structuring.
