Accounting Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist to join an international Finance team in Rotterdam. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, working across multiple entities and improving financial processes.

The Role

You will be responsible for key day-to-day accounting activities, including:

• Bank reconciliations and cash movements


• Accounts receivable, collections and ageing analysis


• Intercompany reconciliations and cross-charges


• Fixed assets, capitalisation and depreciation


• VAT returns and regulatory compliance


• Month-end and year-end closing


• Supporting internal and external audits


• Improving accounting processes, systems and controls


• Supporting wider finance projects

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent


• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting position


• Good knowledge of Dutch accounting and tax requirements


• Strong experience across AR/AP, intercompany accounting, bank reconciliations, fixed assets and VAT


• Strong Excel skills; ERP experience is an advantage


• Fluent Dutch and English


• Hands-on, organised and detail-oriented


• Comfortable working independently in an international, multi-entity environment
