We're looking for an Account Manager for our Agri Commodities division in Rotterdam (Pernis):

Who Are We?


We are Bureau Veritas, Commodities product line, one of the world's leading providers of qualitative and quantitative inspections and analyses of dry and liquid cargo. We are an innovative, fast-operating organization where quality and integrity always come first. Agri Commodities within Bureau Veritas focuses on inspections of Agri (Food & Feed) commodities mostly in international ports.



The Role


As an Agri Account Manager, you are responsible for managing and growing relationships with key clients within the agrifood sector (e.g. distributors, retailers). This role focuses on driving sales performance, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction while aligning with company strategy.


A selection of your tasks includes:



  • Account Management:



  • Manage a portfolio of agrifood clients, acting as the primary point of contact

  • Develop strong, long-term customer relationships

  • Understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention



  • Sales & Business Development



  • Achieve sales targets and revenue growth objectives

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the agrifood sector

  • Prepare and deliver sales proposals, tenders, and presentations

  • Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements

  • Monitor agrifood market trends, pricing, and competition



  • Supporting BU Manager to achieve agreed (financial) objectives by



  • Provide insights on agricultural products, supply chains, and seasonal dynamics

  • Preparing quotations in cooperation with the BU Manager.

  • Coordinating the execution of the Inspection & Logistics nominations.

  • Improving work processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.



  • Collaboration and stakeholder management



  • Manage and work closely with the back-office team (Operations, Logistics, Finance).

  • Coordinate order fulfillment, delivery schedules, and issue resolution

  • Coordinate inspection and expedition activities from A to Z; ensure compliance with quality and safety standards (Gafta, Fosfa).



  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting



  • Track sales performance, KPIs, and account profitability

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline management

  • Provide regular reports and forecasts to management



Your Profile


You are a positive relationship oriented, an authentic team player, results-driven and commercially minded, as well as pragmatic, down-to-earth and solution-oriented. You are analytical but practical. Adaptable and resilient, structured and agile. You are credible and trustworthy and influential communicator with strong affinity for dynamic 24/7 Agrifood market.


Required Qualifications & Competencies:



  • Bachelor's degree (HBO level) or equivalent professional qualification

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a relevant sector, such as inspection, shipping, logistics, experience with sales/ account management

  • Sound technical knowledge: Agri and food processing industry, processes, quality standards, and regulations

  • Commercial Skills: Ability to identify opportunities and grow account portfolios; Sales and negotiation skills

  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and reporting

  • Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making and conflict resolution abilities

  • Language Skills: Fluent Dutch and English (written and spoken); German language skills are a plus
