Just graduated or looking for a nice start within logistics in Engineering? Do you like to solve problems and analyse data? And would you like in a dynamic organisation in which you have the ability to grow? Then we are looking for you as a Logistics Engineer!

YOUR ROLE

As Logistics Engineer you are part of the Operational Excellence department within the region. You base of operations will be our location in Nieuwegein, however you can also be deployed within the mid-west region (Maarssen, Bleiswijk, Amsterdam) due too other processes in the region. Your will report to the Operations Excellence Manager and will work from Monday till Friday between office hours. In addition to you, you will work along other Logistics Engineers in the region, that consists about 8 engineers. Together you contribute to the continuous improvement of our region.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

As a Logistics Engineer you are responsible for supervising improvement projects for our existing warehouses, and for implementation projects regarding (new) customers. With your good ideas, our departments will work more effectively and efficiently.

For example, you notice that a packaging process within the warehouse is not going well and needs to be more efficient. How do you solve this? You can up with the idea to first talk to the people on the shop floor about the current process. And try to find out if this is a problem for them too and how big do they think the problem is? Once you have the exact problem clear. You go back to your desk to check the data that is accessible to see how big the problem really is. Here you conclude that between 12.00 and 16.00 the packing process suddenly is less efficient! The detective inside of you is looking for the cause, so that you can figure out a solution and also ensure that it will be solved by the right people. Problem solved? Then you check whether it really runs better. You record everything neatly and inform management. And then you going to deal with the next project.

As a Logistics Engineer you will work on multiple projects at the same time. This can be the design of a new layout of the warehouse, because a new product has been added to the range. Or you observe the order picking and compare it with the system. In this role you will have a nice mix of actively walking around in the warehouse or being actively present at the office, for example, supervise project meetings, making plans, create dashboards, analysing data or report.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You enjoy optimizing processes within a large logistics environment. You are good at accurately processing, analysing and monitoring data. In addition, you absolutely do not avoid contact with both colleagues and external parties and know how to communicate on different leves. In addition, you are stress resistant and you have also a creative mindset in which continuous improvement is paramount. also you bring the following knowledge and experience with you:

• Experience with project improvements within logistics or completed an education in engineering, supply chain or business administration;


• Experience with project work;


• Very proficient with MS Office;


• Excellent social and communication skills and able to communicate with different layers within the organisation;


• Good command of the Dutch and/or English language in word and writing.
