Job Description - Senior Software Bazel Build Engineer (ID: 4080)

As a Senior Software Bazel Build Engineer, you will:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable software build systems using Bazel.
Implement and optimize build configurations, rules, macros, toolchains, caching, Remote Build Execution (RBE), and hermetic builds.
Develop build and automation solutions using Go and Python.
Manage automated software integration, testing, and release processes using tools such as GitHub Actions.
Work with source control management systems, including Git, GitHub, and IBM Rational ClearCase.
Plan and execute technical work packages while ensuring build quality, performance, and timely delivery.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve build reliability, development efficiency, and software delivery processes.

What You Bring to the Table:

8–10 years of overall professional experience in software development and build engineering, with at least 8 years of relevant experience as specified in the requirement.
Mandatory hands-on Bazel development experience.
Strong knowledge of Bazel concepts, including rules, macros, platforms, RBE, caching, toolchains, and hermetic builds.
Programming experience in Go and Python.
Knowledge of modern software development practices, algorithms, and test-driven development (TDD/BDD).
Experience with automated software integration, build, and release processes.
Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub, and source control management systems.
Good understanding of software quality, build optimization, and development workflows.

You Should Possess the Ability To:

Develop and troubleshoot complex Bazel build systems.
Optimize build performance through caching, remote execution, and dependency management.
Automate build, integration, testing, and release workflows.
Apply software engineering best practices to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions.
Plan technical deliverables, manage priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure.
Collaborate with engineering teams and communicate technical challenges and outcomes to stakeholders.
