Analytics & Target Setting Officer

JOB OBJECTIVES

• Support the Unit Head, Risk Analysis & Profiling in delivering on the routine and ad-hoc deliverables of the banks’ Operational Risk Management Risk Analysis and Profiling function and provide added value by utilizing skills in data analytics to analyze Operational Risk data collated in the bank into insightful and useful information to aid informed decision making.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide support for assessing, measuring and quantifying operational risk within the bank utilizing approved Risk Grading matrix and other available data.
• Analyse the Bank KRI data to determine root cause and loss drivers e.g trend analysis, deep-dive analysis of risk themes e.g fraud.
• Collate external risk analysis data, considering the lessons learnt, potential new threats, systemic issues and triggers for targeted reviews.
• Ensure integrity of data inputs and outputs and alignment to business unit risk profiles.
• Develop and create risk reports for assessing the bank’s operational risk exposures.
• Support and actively participate in the development of Risk and control Library for all products, processes, systems and activities mapped in liaison with respective process owners and other stake holders.
• Carry out ad-hoc analysis of Operational Risk data as required for necessary reporting to Business and Senior Management.
• Develop risk awareness initiatives through Oprisk newsletter and Oprisk flyers.
• Any other job assigned by the Unit Head.
• As part of the Bank’s Information Security requirements, maintain the security of all Information entrusted to the staff and comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

• First degree in Applied Sciences. The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree.

Experience

• Minimum experience: four (4) years of relevant banking experience within Risk Management Analysis. Knowledge of Data Analysis and experience using data analysis tools, MS Excel, Power BI is essential.
