Job Description: Assistant HR Generalist

Position Title: Assistant HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Location: OGUN (sagamu,abeokuta)

Job Summary

The Assistant HR Generalist will support the Human Resources department in recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, payroll coordination, performance management, and compliance activities. The role requires a proactive and organized individual who can effectively manage day -to -day HR operations while ensuring adherence to company policies and labour regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Assist in sourcing, screening, and shortlisting candidates.
  • Schedule interviews and coordinate the recruitment process.
  • Facilitate employee onboarding and orientation programs.
  • Prepare employment contracts and onboarding documentation.

HR Administration

  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases.
  • Manage leave, attendance, and personnel files.
  • Prepare HR reports and documentation as required.
  • Ensure proper filing and confidentiality of employee information.

Employee Relations

  • Support employee engagement and welfare initiatives.
  • Assist in handling employee inquiries and grievances.
  • Promote a positive and productive work environment.

Payroll & Compliance

  • Assist with payroll preparation and verification.
  • Monitor compliance with labour laws and company policies.
  • Support disciplinary and performance management processes.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate training schedules and employee development programs.
  • Track training records and employee performance evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of HR experience in a similar role.
  • Professional certification (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD, HRCI) is an added advantage.
