Blockchain Developer

The BlockChain Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining blockchain-based solutions that support Kitovu’s products and business operations.
The role involves developing secure and scalable blockchain applications, smart contracts, decentralized applications (dApps), APIs, and integrations that enable transparent, efficient, and trusted transactions across the agricultural value chain.

Key Responsibilities
1. Blockchain Development
Design, develop, and maintain blockchain-based applications and solutions.
Develop and deploy smart contracts based on defined business requirements.
Build decentralized applications (dApps) and blockchain-enabled platforms.
Develop blockchain architecture that is scalable, secure, and suitable for business use cases.
Integrate blockchain technology with existing company platforms, databases, and APIs.
Research and recommend appropriate blockchain protocols, frameworks, and technologies.

2. Smart Contract Development
Design, write, test, deploy, and maintain smart contracts.
Implement business rules and transaction logic securely within smart contracts.
Conduct testing and debugging to identify and resolve vulnerabilities and performance issues.
Optimize smart contracts for efficiency, scalability, and cost.
Maintain clear documentation of smart contract architecture and functionality.

3. Blockchain Integration & Infrastructure
Develop APIs and backend services that interact with blockchain networks.
Integrate wallets, payment systems, identity solutions, and other third-party services where required.
Manage blockchain nodes, network configurations, and related infrastructure where applicable.
Support the integration of blockchain solutions into existing enterprise systems.
Monitor blockchain applications and resolve technical issues affecting performance or reliability.

4. Security & Risk Management
Apply blockchain security best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in smart contracts and blockchain applications.
Conduct or coordinate smart contract audits before production deployment.
Implement appropriate access controls, authentication, and transaction security mechanisms.
Stay informed about emerging blockchain security threats and mitigation techniques.

5.Testing & Deployment
Develop unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for blockchain applications and smart contracts.
Conduct testing across development, staging, and production environments.
Deploy blockchain applications and smart contracts using appropriate development and deployment tools.
Monitor deployed solutions and troubleshoot issues promptly.
Maintain version control and appropriate development documentation.
