Business Development Officer

Experience Level: 0–2 years

Department: Business Development / Commercial

Reports To: Head, Business Development

Role Purpose: The Business Development Officer will support the identification, development, and conversion of new business opportunities to drive revenue growth for the organisation. The role is focused on market research, lead generation, client engagement, and execution support across the business development lifecycle.

Requirements

1. Market Research & Opportunity Identification
Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify new business opportunities
Support the mapping of potential clients, sectors, and strategic partnerships
Maintain an updated pipeline of prospects and market intelligence

2. Lead Generation & Client Acquisition
Support the generation of qualified leads through outreach, networking, and digital channels
Assist in preparing pitch materials, proposals, and presentations
Follow up on leads and support conversion into business opportunities

3. Client Relationship Support
Assist in managing relationships with new and existing clients
Support client engagement activities, meetings, and follow-ups
Maintain accurate client records and interaction logs

4. Proposal & Business Documentation
Support preparation of business proposals, concept notes, and commercial documents
Work with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely submission of bids or proposals
Ensure documentation aligns with brand and quality standards

5. Sales Reporting & Performance Tracking
Maintain pipeline reports and update CRM tools where applicable
Track conversion rates, lead progress, and business development activities
Support preparation of weekly and monthly performance reports

6. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with operations, finance, and marketing teams to support business delivery
Participate in internal strategy and business development meetings
