Chief Technology Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s technical vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
  

• Lead the architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable fintech products.
  

• Oversee security and compliance protocols across systems to meet local and international financial regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).
  

• Hire, mentor, and manage high-performing engineering, DevOps, and data teams.
  

• Drive technical decisions regarding build vs. buy, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and microservices.
  

• Collaborate with product and business teams to prioritize features and improve customer experience.
  

• Implement robust CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and QA/testing procedures.
  

• Manage vendor relationships for third-party integrations (e.g., Paystack, Flutterwave, AWS, Azure).
  

• Provide regular technical reports and risk assessments to executive leadership and investors.
  

• Represent HitchPay in technical discussions with partners, regulators, and stakeholders.
  

Requirements

• Proven experience as CTO, VP of Engineering, or equivalent leadership role in a high-growth fintech or SaaS company.
  

• Strong background in software development (e.g., Django, Node.js, React) and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, containerization).
  

• Experience with fintech products including virtual cards, payment APIs, KYC, and core banking integrations.
  

• Deep understanding of security, data privacy, and compliance in fintech.
  

• Demonstrated success in leading product launches, system scalability, and cross-functional teams.
  

• Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (MBA is a plus).

• Familiarity with Nigerian and pan-African fintech regulatory frameworks.
