Gender & Environmental Justice Officer

Job Summary:
 The Gender & Environmental Justice Officer will support field-level implementation of grassroots initiatives at the intersection of women’s rights, community-led conservation, and climate resilience. Designed for an early-career professional (0–2 years of experience), this role focuses on mobilizing rural and forest-dependent communities, facilitating community dialogues, and promoting women's leadership in sustainable resource management across Cross River State. The incumbent will work closely with community leaders, women’s groups, and field teams to ensure that gender equity and human rights principles are actively integrated into local environmental stewardship.

 
Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in organizing and facilitating grassroots community dialogues, workshops, and awareness-raising sessions on the intersection of gender justice and environmental protection.

* Support women's groups and local stakeholders within forest communities to promote equitable access to community resources and sustainable livelihoods.

* Conduct basic field monitoring and document community-level observations regarding gender inclusion, rights awareness, and local environmental challenges.

* Coordinate closely with community volunteers and local partners to schedule field activities and distribute outreach materials.

* Prepare clear and concise field activity reports, attendance records, and qualitative feedback summaries to support project documentation and monitoring.
