JOB SUMMARY

The Development Data Analyst will oversee the development and utilisation of subsurface data, information, and documents, employing best in class data management procedures, tools, and processes to ensure data quality assurance, efficient data storage, retrieval, and data governance. S/He will embed minimum data management standards and policies, conduct data analysis and troubleshoot while ensuring the maintenance of data security and confidentiality. The Development Data Analyst will work within Corporate Development and Asset Teams managing a range of subsurface information and data types across the different assets of the company. S/He manages and facilitates timely access to quality assured information and data for users, and is required to work with many types of data including seismic, well, spatial, production data, etc.

The role of the Development Data Analyst position is to support Subsurface exploration and production activities by managing and organizing critical data and providing administrative support to the team

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive compliance of approved data standards, governance, process standards, guidelines and policies for technical data, data management and data quality management.


• Collect, organize, and manage subsurface data including well logs, seismic data, geological interpretations, production data, and reservoir engineering data. Maintains records on the type and storage locations of physical data including seismic tapes, cores, ditch cuttings, legacy paper logs and document etc.


• Liaise with Discipline Chiefs to formulate strategies to ensure collected data is of high quality, accurate and legitimate prior to uploading to corporate database or archiving as required


• Develop and implement workflows for data management (viz: gather, organise, store, analyse) while maintaining data security, integrity and assigned confidentiality levels.


• Work with IT department on regular data troubleshooting to ensure data security and integrity. Develop and manage data management solutions/systems as well as regular backup/restoration of data to prevent data loss. Perform data mining as required.


• Support the prompt and seamless retrieval of subsurface data, daily use of data systems to ensure compliance to legal and company data management standards and controls.


• Ensure final and approved data and documents from completed studies are moved to appropriate repositories or achieved as required (e.g., SharePoint or others)


• Provide administrative assistance to the subsurface team including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.


• Assist GM Development in preparing and formatting documents, presentations, and technical reports. Manage correspondence, emails, calendars, and phone calls, prioritizing and redirecting inquiries as necessary.


• Knows the Company health, safety and environment policy, procedures, regulations, and objectives as they relate to his area of responsibility. Ensure that an HSE culture of Goal

Education & Qualification

• B.Sc in Any related disciplines


• Minimum of 5 years of experience


• Upstream Oil & Gas experience required.

Special Challenges

• High volume of complex data. Staff should be able to identify suitable data management system, for the large volumes of digital and hardcopy data stored on multiple platforms and filing systems distributed across numerous locations. Data management and quality control will continue to demand significant attention from staff in the foreseeable future to build an auditable portfolio.
